APPS Back to Navigation
Applications are currently CLOSED

✬ Glymmer is an invite-only game for the time being! For more information on the invite system, please visit the invite page.

✬ Apps are always open! However, I as the mod reserve the right to close them again if we get close to the game cap, or for any other reason. If I do that, I will make sure to clearly announce it in advance so everyone can plan for it.

✬ Apps will always be processed on the Saturday after they're submitted. If I for some reason cannot process apps that Saturday, then I will announce this on Plurk and process them on Sunday instead. Regardless, they should be processed every weekend!

✬ Currently, there is a game cap of 50 characters and a cast cap of 5 characters. Franchises (such as separate Final Fantasies and Personas and Marvel) will be considered separately for now. These caps are flexible and I will revisit them later on.

✬ We are currently accepting apps for fandom characters, OCs, and AUs of fandom characters (both canon and player made). We are not accepting apps for PG/CRAUs at this time.

✬ Doubles of characters are allowed so long as one version is appreciably different than the other version. We allow up to two versions of the same character to exist in the game at once. For example, Peter Parker from MCU and the Peter Parker from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse would both be appable. So would canon Sora from Kingdom Hearts, and a player made AU where Sora never got the keyblade. The mods will be the one to determine whether the two version of a character are different enough to be appable. If you're not sure, you can ask!

✬ In a case where someone wishes to app a double into the game, they may do so only with permission from the player already in the game. If that player says no, please respect this! Doubles are so much fun (speaking from experience) but are only fun if all players are on board with it.

✬ Apps for historical characters will only be allowed if they are from a highly fictionalized take on history. For example, Abraham Lincoln from Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is appable, but Alexander Hamilton from the musical Hamilton is not.

✬ Players may play up to two characters in the game, but may only app one per app period.

✬ While we have no age limits on what characters can be applied to Glymmer, please make sure that they character you're applying for is suitable for the setting and can be self-sufficient! If the mods have questions about character suitability, we may take you aside to ask before accepting them. If we find that they aren't suitable for the setting, we will decline the application.

✬ You do not have to reserve a character to app them.

✬ Please fill out the following form and then post it to this page to apply to the game:

Canon: Persona 5
Age: 16
Canon Point: 12/25, after he turns himself in
Character Info: Wiki

Why would your character make a good (or bad) phantom thief?
This probably comes as no surprise, but Akira would make a damn good Phantom Thief. . . in his heart.

That is to say, Akira has the determination and desire to be a Phantom Thief in droves. He's the type of person who always goes out of his way to help a person in need. The game events are catalyzed, after all, by his decision to stop a drunk man from assaulting a woman, even though this choice eventually leads to his arrest on assault charges and his expulsion from school. Although the consequences of his interference are harsh and unjust, Akira doesn't regret his actions. How could he, when in his mind it is never wrong to stand up for those who are suffering? Akira is the sort of person who is led by his heart, by his own internal definition of "justice." As such, he acts on what he truly believes is right, regardless of how society may perceive him afterwards.

And in addition to that desire to help the weak and suffering, Akira is very much a go-getter kind of person. Fueled by the anger of the unjust actions surrounding his arrest, he uses that anger to propel himself forward to conquer a world full of selfishness and indolence that needs reformation. His team comments that he's the kind of person who, when he sets his mind on something, cannot be dissuaded or deterred from pursuing that goal. This means he isn't just talk-- he walks the walk to back it up, and he does it with a fierce grin and fire in his eyes.

But just because someone has the heart of the Phantom Thief doesn't mean they have the. . . ah. Ability. Sure, Akira is good at beating up Shadows in the Metaverse, stealing treasures and hearts and altering the distorted desires of criminals everywhere. But he is also an honest and kind person who is about as subtle as a brick to the goddamn face. All of Akira's Confidants figure out he's a Phantom Thief because the moment they're in trouble, he uses his team to help fix their problems. Akira has never been a good liar, and that's likely because he prefers to be himself when he's surrounded by the people he cares about. He keeps his head down and wears a quiet, polite smile with strangers and society at large, but. . . around those he trusts? That burning passion for justice will show itself one way or another.

And there's nothing he can do to hide it.
Specialization: Thief

Starter thief outfit: Concept art is a gem. Since the artwork isn't very clear: black suit pants + white button up shirt + suspenders + black blazer left open + SUPER FLOWY BLACK SCARF + dumb top hat with the "joker" playing card tucked in the crease + black mask a la Noir

Powers:
Akira has what is referred to as the Power of Persona, which means he can summon a physical(ish) representation of his soul to do battle for him. As the main protagonist of Persona 5, he has the ability of the Wild Card, which means he can summon multiple different Personas instead of just one. This gives him a wide array of abilities (everything from a broad range of elemental magic to healing magic to debuffs to physical attacks), which allows him to adapt to any situation in battle.

At his canonpoint, Akira can hold up to twelve (12) Personas. The twelve (12) with which he'll arrive, as well as their combat specializations and arcana, will be:

Satanael (Fool) - specializes in dark magic and gun attacks
Futsunushi (Magician) - specializes in physical attacks
Cybele (Priestess) - specializes in light magic and healing
Mother Harlot (Empress) - specializes in ice magic
Odin (Emperor) - specializes in electric magic
Kohryu (Hierophant) - specializes in psychokinetic magic
Ishtar (Lovers) - specializes in healing
Chi You (Chariot) - specializes in psychical attacks and psychokinetic magic
Metatron (Justice) - specialize sin light magic
Ongyo-Ki (Hermit) - specializes in physical attacks
Zaou Gongen (Strength) - specializes in fire magic and physical attacks
Satan (Judgment) - specializes in ice magic

It should be noted that despite the wide spectrum of elemental magic he has at his fingertips, Akira's abilities are still no more powerful than like, any of the NPC magic that might be found in the game.

Akira also has another unique ability: the Third Eye. This is described as a thief's sixth sense in game, his ability to see that which hides in darkness. When activated, Akira is capable of seeing things such as footprints or highlighted objects that help him solve puzzles and navigate his way through dungeons.
