✬ Glymmer is an invite-only game for the time being! For more information on the invite system, please visit the invite page.

✬ Apps are always open! However, I as the mod reserve the right to close them again if we get close to the game cap, or for any other reason. If I do that, I will make sure to clearly announce it in advance so everyone can plan for it.

✬ Apps will always be processed on the Saturday after they're submitted. If I for some reason cannot process apps that Saturday, then I will announce this on Plurk and process them on Sunday instead. Regardless, they should be processed every weekend!

✬ Currently, there is a game cap of 50 characters and a cast cap of 5 characters. Franchises (such as separate Final Fantasies and Personas and Marvel) will be considered separately for now. These caps are flexible and I will revisit them later on.

✬ We are currently accepting apps for fandom characters, OCs, and AUs of fandom characters (both canon and player made). We are not accepting apps for PG/CRAUs at this time.

✬ Doubles of characters are allowed so long as one version is appreciably different than the other version. We allow up to two versions of the same character to exist in the game at once. For example, Peter Parker from MCU and the Peter Parker from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse would both be appable. So would canon Sora from Kingdom Hearts, and a player made AU where Sora never got the keyblade. The mods will be the one to determine whether the two version of a character are different enough to be appable. If you're not sure, you can ask!

✬ In a case where someone wishes to app a double into the game, they may do so only with permission from the player already in the game. If that player says no, please respect this! Doubles are so much fun (speaking from experience) but are only fun if all players are on board with it.

✬ Apps for historical characters will only be allowed if they are from a highly fictionalized take on history. For example, Abraham Lincoln from Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is appable, but Alexander Hamilton from the musical Hamilton is not.

✬ Players may play up to two characters in the game, but may only app one per app period.

✬ While we have no age limits on what characters can be applied to Glymmer, please make sure that they character you're applying for is suitable for the setting and can be self-sufficient! If the mods have questions about character suitability, we may take you aside to ask before accepting them. If we find that they aren't suitable for the setting, we will decline the application.

✬ You do not have to reserve a character to app them.

Why would your character make a good (or bad) phantom thief?

If Minako had to be an actual thief, she probably wouldn't be very good at it. Sneaking around isn't exactly her specialty, she's more of a (strategically, to be fair) jump headfirst into something kind of person. That said, she would make a great Grifter! She's a charming person by nature, friendly and personable, and has great leadership skills that tend to draw you in to her as a person. She'd be excellent at providing distractions and otherwise setting up the scene for others to sneak in and do the actual thieving bits. She's a quick thinker and extremely intelligent, and is, back home, trusted to make calls on strategies and plans both ahead of time and on the fly while they're on the field. As such, that's another reason she'd be great at being a Grifter — she can improvise and adapt in the situation depending on what's going on, and lead them down the best path for success. Minako also has the benefit of being a courageous person able to push through fear and indecision; she's the only one that's able to act when the train was about to crash during their first full moon mission, as everyone else was paralyzed with fear. If anything goes sour in a heist, you can trust on her to be able to keep a level head and figure out how to solve it, without being bogged down with worries and anxiety.

This is debatable as to whether it'd be a positive or negative in the thieving world, but she's also a very self sacrificial kind of person. If things go awry, she can and will put herself in the line of fire first so that others can get out unscathed. If caught by the authorities, she'd 100% take the credit alone and protect everyone else involved, as she is fiercely loyal and ain't no snitch, thank you very much. It's hard to say she isn't the type of person to give her all to those she cares about (and she comes to care very easily), considering she literally sacrificed herself for the sake of the entire world. Even if her wish upon arriving in Glymmer is to get to be able to see her friends again (without jeopardizing the world at large), self sacrifice is still something she'd do again and again, without question, and her decision isn't something she regrets.

One of Minako's defining character traits is her resilience against hardship — no matter how tough situations become and how terrible things are for her, she always finds it within herself to get back on her feet and push forward rather than letting herself be overcome with despair. You can't break her, and if she needs to, she'll go down fighting rather than be a passive observer in the situation. So, even if thieving gets rough, if bad things happen and she struggles, she'll keep moving forward and make sure she's a person that people can rely on, and come to for help in trying times.

Powers:

Minako is a Persona user, meaning that she summons a creature that is a facet of personality to fight for her in battle. She uses an Evoker in order to do so, a gun-shaped object that she shoots into her head. When her Persona is out, any damage onto it will also reflect onto her. Her Persona is essentially a corporeal being until it's dismissed, making keeping it out for too long at a time dangerous. Minako is also what's known as a wild-card, meaning she can summon multiple personas, up to about 12 on her at a time. here are some Personas. DO WE NEED TO NERF THE INSTA KILLS???? i probably wouldn't ever use them anyways tbh

Your character will find, in addition to the items on the Arrival page, a personalized note tucked in the collar of their shirt. If they take the time to read it, it says:

You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think. ✵

NOTE: Minako's Personas will function as normal, EXCEPT for those with healing spells. While she'll be able to use her healing magic, in order to prevent it from overlapping too much with the Muscle's ability, she can only use it to heal small scrapes and bruises. Any wounds larger than that will be unaffected, although she can also use her healing spells to reduce the pain until a Muscle arrives on the scene.

Further, insta-kills will be nerfed inasmuch as they act like Bless and Curse skills in Persona 5. That is, they do HP damage, but don't instantly knock out the foe.
